    Sun Sleeves?

I have worn "recovery" long-sleeved compression tops as a base layer on all my Caminos. I find them helpful in many ways. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

Those who have walked at least one Camino - What are your favorite insoles and why?

I wear zero drop trail runners with Injinji toe socks and Scholl Gel Activ Work insoles. They provide better cushioning and heat dissipation which I find helps with blister prevention. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

Ok entering the shoe debate with trepidation ...

If you are looking at Altra trail runners try the Mont Blanc. They are in between Lone Peak and Olympus in terms of cushioning. I switched to zero drop trail runners before my third Camino and am now a fan.

Ok entering the shoe debate with trepidation ...

I would agree with domigee. As another Aussie, I'd say stick to your Keen boots and toe socks. You might just want some more room in the toe box if you have been losing toenails? Switching to elastic lock laces and gel insoles might also help. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

…and my shoes are sold out (Altra help/recommendations!)

Ah, that must be why I got mine at 35% off normal retail price.

…and my shoes are sold out (Altra help/recommendations!)

I always replace the standard laces with elastic lock laces, so I don't have problems with tight spots.

…and my shoes are sold out (Altra help/recommendations!)

One review I read of the Mont Blancs showed alternative lacing patterns to aid with issues such as this. Here is the link: https://www.wildfiresports.com.au/blog/our-blog/shoe-lacing-styles/

…and my shoes are sold out (Altra help/recommendations!)

I'm trying a pair of Altra Mont Blanc shoes at the moment. More cushioning than the Lone Peaks I am used to, but a little less than the Olympus. I like them so far. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

    OK guys, what underwear?

I wear Skins compression tights. No chafing, very breathable, quick drying and reduce leg fatigue. Works for me. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

    My Camino shopping

Yes Sarah, good idea. That is where I went next too.

    My Camino shopping

I like the "sternum pouch" idea. I tried something similar on one Camino. Just be sure it doesn't jiggle around too much as this can become quite annoying when walking. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

    Sticks and Boots

I don't know what shape feet you have, but just a word of caution re Salomon trail runners. They tend to be quite narrow, and I had a terrible time with them in 2016, but then my feet are quite wide. I switched to Altra Lone Peaks after that and had no more trouble. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

    Sticks and Boots

My suggestion - lightweight trail runners (not waterproof) with replacement gel insoles, toe socks, and definitely use good quality hiking poles (learn how to adjust height and use properly first). Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

    "Itchy" backpack straps

I always have compression fabric next to my skin on Camino. No rubbing or itching with my Osprey pack. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

My buff has been so necessary!

Get used to it MissChic. Especially if you become a Camino tragic like me. Most people just don't get it! Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

My buff has been so necessary!

Love the buff! I wear them on my head and/or around my neck. 🚶‍♂️

    Boxer shorts - any recommendations

Compression tights (SKINS) for me! No chafing and help prevent leg soreness. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

    Favorite Walking/hiking leggings

Skins brand recovery style. Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

    Christmas gift help

I am 188cm and have used an Osprey Stratos on all my Caminos. It has served me very well and I will continue to use it until the pack falls apart (or I do 🤣). Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

    Difference Between Altras

I have walked my last 3 Caminos in Altra Lone Peaks and have been very happy with them. I do replace the inserts with gel inserts for a bit more cushioning. (Please note that I always use walking sticks to take some of the weight off my knees and feet.) Currently experimenting with a pair of...
