Hi Karen, It's interesting to note people's home country when they suggest whether or not you will need a sleeping bag. From Toronto, definitely not. I'm from northern Australia and I say definitely yes! We walked the Camino Frances last Sept/Oct and I was so glad that I had a light-weight...
I LOVE my camelbak. I have taken it on the Camino Frances, the Kokoda Trail, the Coast to Coast etc. I wouldn't trek without it. I put only water in it and have never been sick.

Hi Janet, You know your body - do you think you need it? Some people don't but some people most certainly do. Really bad body odor makes me want to puke. I always use a crystal - doesn't weigh much at all and does the job.

Am I missing something? Why is a camelback difficult to keep clean? To me a camelback is just like a platypus in that it gets smaller as the contents are drunk except it is packed out of the way and yet is accessible at all times.

I love my Camelback. I find that I'm more inclined to sip water more often when it's so easily available - and that has to be good. Some people just don't drink enough if they can't get to their water easily.

For a universal sink stopper my husband cut a 75mm diametre circle out of a piece of heavy duty innertube - in fact we took a few to share around. They weigh practically nothing and work a treat.
