Excellent report. Thanks for the good information. I will likely stick to my Tevas and Saucony Grids. I did enjoy going barefoot on the long sandy stretches along the Norte beaches.
This might be an interesting experiment: Ask the forum a Camino-related question and see what kind of responses start rolling in. In the meantime, ask the same question of the bot and see which one (forum or bot) has the best response.
PS: Watch out Ivar, AI is taking over! Pretty soon, we...
Did you use tables to insert photos or just a photo? I have been trying to use Word to record my Camino but it seems it is easier to add a double row single column table with photo above and text below, but requires sizing and centering etc. there must be an easier way.
Shoes, backpacks and routes! These must be the 3 top requests from newcomers! I was a newbie last year and unaware of Ivars Camino forum. This is my experience.
Shoes: I have always worn Saucony for the grumpy soles, but when I went to my local footwear shop the Brooks had a better sole than...
Thanks! This is certainly one of the better explanatory videos of using poles, but, respectfully, I have watched many of these and practiced their good information. However, I am walking the Camino, not climbing thru snow or crossing rivers. Not that the Camino does not have its challenges, but...

I am not totally unfamiliar with using a staff. Just before entering Villafranca del Bierzo, I noticed what appeared to be a long stick on the side of the trail. As I walked past, I realized that it had been placed there for me. I went back to the ungainly branch, placed my hand around one end...
I do not like using hiking poles. I have a nice pair and I have adjusted the straps and lengths and use them properly on uphill, downhill and level ground but still prefer to go without. However, as I get ready for Norte and Primitivo, I am considering a walking staff. So a question to...
I used a hefty trash can liner upside down with hole out for my head and arms. Worked like a charm, covered my backpack and did not weigh much. That, with my Tilley hat, kept me dry enough.
I like my Ecco sandals. In the morning, I rub on the Aquafor, use woolen ankle socks, and take off sandals and socks about halfway through the day to let my feet breathe.
