I’m planning the CF, SJPdP to Santiago staring early September, hopefully finishing in Finisterre or Muxia mid to end October. I hate being too hot or too cold!
I’m debating the eternal liner or lightweight sleeping bag question. I’m expecting it to be probably hot at the start, but much...
Thanks, I’ll take a watch of this.Am I right in thinking you make your own clothes too? Apologies if I have the wrong person but I’m frantically trying to find an old thread I read about someone buying Merino Wool material to make her own light weight travel dress. A bit of a stab in the dark...
Please help! I’m looking to order an Altus Atmospheric Poncho for the CF in Sept/Oct.
I’m UK based, so will probably end up ordering from Amazon Uk, which will charge me over £11 for delivery, so I want to get the sizing right.
I’m a shorty, 5 foot 1, 195 pounds, and will be carrying a 45l...
So I got to try my new Keen Whispers out today on a 7 mile walk. I walked on sand, forest trails and gravel paths and the sandals did good! I wore the, with Bridgedale socks and had no rubbing or blisters. They weren’t quite as cushioned as I’m used to with other shoes, but on the whole I’m pleased!
Thank you all. My Keen Whispers arrived yesterday, and…….. I think I’m in love!
I ordered a half size up and they feel great. I just have to get past their , ahem, ugliness now, and an inbuilt girly aversion to socks with sandals! I will try them out on the weekend, but in the meantime, please...
Thank you so much for all your replies! Sandals only certainly seems doable. I have a pair of Keen Whispers arriving this week, so will try them out. I have an old comfy pair of Hokas so could possibly take them and bin them en route if the sandals seem to be working out! Thanks again.
Hi, I’m hoping to do the CF in early September, from SJPdP and hopefully onto Finisterre.
I was meant to do the Camino in 2020, my flight was all booked, but then we all know what happened!
I’m back looking at my gear now, and reading more about hiking sandals.I’m just wondering whether I...
Hi,
I'm thinking it may be best to keep my bank cards, credencial and passport hidden away on my body, and not packed in my rucksack?
Is this the type of thing people use?

I'm guessing I would keep money in a money belt too?
Sorry, I...
Oh my gosh, so much valuable information here I am going to read and reread it all. Thank you all so much.
I will definitely be googling Meindl shoes, Altra trail runners and I think a purchase of Birkenstock Eva's is definitely on the cards!
You are all amazing!
Hi, I'm 51, with slightly wide feet and will be walking the Camino Frances next July. Never done anything like it before. I've been reading the forum for footwear advice. Going to start looking at shoes etc soon, so I can train in them. I've got a couple of questions I hope you lovely ladies can...
Wow, so many thought provoking interesting replies! Thank you all for taking the time to write. i have read through them all, now the next step is to get out to a shop and actually look at them in person. At l;east now I have a better idea what to look at; the size of the hip pockets, hip...
Going to start looking at rucksacks and will probably be looking at the ladies osprey ones, 30-35 litres. The reason I'm looking at Osprey first is I have a much larger 65 litre one that I love, but which will be too big, so I know I like their style and fit.
If any of you ladies have carried...
