Small juicer, vegetarians and heating element?

Jugo de naranja is very popular and available. And it is fresco.

    Is this Camino clothing heresy?

I may want you to fix my Plane...but you have to be Jet Certified.

    Rain...rain pants?

Go with what MesaWalker stated. Get a Poncho, eliminating a rain jacket, rain pants and a pack rain cover. Now, imagine the other possible uses for the poncho, when not raining...as an added blanket in albergues, or, if the bed is less than acceptable but too late to find another bed...

    Question about towels

Mine is microfiber, dries quicker than most other materials and is big enough that I use it as a blanket when needed.

Is this to be believed? Hoka sale

Anything found on FB is highly suspect, even if not interested in their product. Please note that FB does not police the vendors to see whether they are legitimate or not. I have been stung by this scam myself, admittedly.

Where do you shop? [in the UK]

I’ve become partial to CragHoppers 1/4 Zip Fleece pullovers. Wearing one now.

    Feedback on packing list please

Sorry, that was my head math. Osprey packs are usually 3 lb +/-. But the total is accurate. I do see thru the thread that the pack is down to 13 lb. Still, the more that is stripped out, the more the walking will be enjoyed. And, I would still recommend that Walking test with the final pack or...

    Feedback on packing list please

My suggestion is very easy. Your list adds up to just under 18 lb. Go ahead and carry that equivalent just 3 or 4 blocks and surmise how you feel after it is done. If that is comfortable, double the distance, then again until the track is 15 miles / 24 km. Anything less will not be equal to an...

    "Itchy" backpack straps

I highly doubt that it is the pack straps. They likely feel smooth to the touch so it is something between the straps and the skin, if is not the skin itself. Consider the material of the shirt, what detergent it was washed with. It sounds like a potential skin allergy. The pack is not the...

Say No! to rubber tips on your poles.

No Forum rules are being violated by this post. No hateful speech, angry rhetoric, or even noodle recipes are offered. DO what makes you happy, as long as it does not put a frown on the rest of us. Glad I got that in before the thread is closed…

    Pack weight question

The 10% pack weight rule is a myth. Imagine someone your height that weighs 200 lb. So their pack weight is 20 lb? I know, I tried it and failed miserably, and also damaged a leg. The best pack weight rule is "less is more." Take things that have more than one purpose, as much as possible. What...

How do you carry the important stuff?

I used a small purse in the past but only kept enough money in it for the day. I had other places where I kept money etc so that to get it all, a thief would have to spend a lot of time finding it. However, 40 years of martial arts practice has seemingly created an aura of, "Don't mess with me,"...

    A good hat.....

I have always used an old Army Fatigue wide brimmed hat from the Surplus Store. No brand names, just gets the job done.

Help! Pack too heavy! — CF Sept & Oct — Senior Woman

Well, I never had to contort to find a bottle. I used a front pouch hanging off my pack belt to carry the water bottle so no loss of stride there. It weighs about 40 grams. And I never had to take my pack off to fill my water bottle.

Help! Pack too heavy! — CF Sept & Oct — Senior Woman

Consider convertible pants, ones you can remove the legs, and a pair of shorts. Wear the pants during the day and use the shorts in the evening, or when the pants are drying after a wash. That is all that will be needed. The pack. I went to the store and they recommended a 48L Osprey, which I...

    Am I packing too much?

Giving you only one simple suggestion beyond total pack weight goal of 10 lb. Skip the Sleep mask by using the buff over your eyes instead. Always try to make one thing do many jobs. The lighter the weight, the lighter the walk.

Please bring a sleeping bag of some kind

I will repeat that carrying a Snugpak Jungle Blanket is a viable and light solution on Caminos in Spain, "IN THE SUMMER." It is a double layer blanket that I use regularly instead of a sleeping bag. A quick search for it proved that the Jungle Blanket is out there, with many price points in...

    Ultimate Dog Repellent

If I may, consult with that same dog trainer re: secondary tools for repelling dogs. Pepper spray may not deter them. There is much on canine psychology that would help here but it would be voluminous. And personally, I have never had any difficulties with dogs at home or on the Camino except...

    Ultimate Dog Repellent

I have always found that my attitude has been my best deterrent. With defending dogs, I ignore them. They leave me alone. With angry dogs, they still will not attack without provocation. Best to look up a very good dog trainer like Cesar and review his methods.
