    Another Hotspot Foot Pondering

Try NOK instead of Vaseline. Much better. Also buy Hikers Wool from New Zealand. There is nothing better to cushion your feet if you feel a hot spot or anyplace where you may need some cushioning.

Allright, who has the lightest sleeping bag ;)

I have a Montbell Alpine Down Hugger. It opens up like a blanket. Weighs 16 oz and goes down to 50 degrees F. I love it. Also check out ZPacks online. I believe they carry one now.

Does the TSA allow trekking poles as "carry on" baggage?

I had the kind of poles (Black Diamond Ultra Distance Z0Pole Trekking Poles) that get small enough to go into my pack in their own bag and had rubber tips on the poles. I was able to take them in my carry-on pack both to and from Spain from the United States.

    the best back pack!

I carried 15 lbs without the water. Once I had 3 - 4 liters of water, but usually under 1 liter. The support is fantastic. I had the 45 liter pack. It also comes in 52 liters and 60 liters. 45 was plenty for me. You measure yourself and they make it for you. Check out their website...

Smart Packing and Unexpected Backpack Items

I needed my extra shoelace when I lost weight. Besides, belts are heavy, so shoelaces work better for a belt from the beginning.

Smart Packing and Unexpected Backpack Items

The parachute cord is much longer than the shoe laces and therefore easier to find a place to tie-up in the albergue. Justvrememberctobpull out the center cords. The spare shielace made a great belt.

First Aid Kit for Camino Frances

What are the essential items to have in a first aid kit for the Camino Frances? I begin in St. Jean on August 26th. I am trying to "Go Light" and I understand I will find pharmacies on the way, but I don't want to be caught without something that I may need. Thanks.
