    Hi Barb, They are easy to use. You don't need an expensive set. If you are starting at St Pied De Port there is a trekking shop next to the Pilgrim passport office. They are pretty cheap. If you are not sure how to use them properly, the guy in the shop will demonstrate how to use it.
