Had this happen with a favorite tennis shoe - by the time it wore out, could no longer get one like it. A small sliver of hope, however....sometimes you can find an old favorite item on eBay!- Walter or Carol

Time for a Sock thread!
Have had success with my 1000 mile socks on short (2-3hour) hikes - worked really well walking all day on hard surfaces in recent trip to Cinqua Terre, including a trail between towns. Did not smell, no blisters, and able to wear a couple times before washing. Planning on taking 2 pair on...- Walter or Carol

Military Report on Carrying Pack-loads over distance
Have others used a trailer pack? Do you see them on the Camino? I'd love to hear about your experiences. With multiple back surgeries I can only lift 15 pounds total and was considering having luggage service, but like the idea of not having to depend on calling ahead every day.- Walter or Carol
