As a short term portable solution when i transfer photos to and from my Ipad is thumb drives
Solid state and easily portable
A set of SDXC cards of suitible size is more to my liking and trust factor.
Camino folks would have kittens if I took a medium format camera that can create files up to 1.5 to 3 gigs....each,and would seemingly fill a terrabyte hard drive in 100 or so photos.
Its how my artistic mind works..
Its good for the soul
Its fulfilling in about 3 ways
My S23 will do for...
Thats my problem, i live/love to capture special moments of light
Crepuscular rays inside buildings
Shades of gold
Singular things lit up by a stray ray
Sunsets...
My eye is forever roving for special compositions, moments and juxtapositions
Its how i remember things hence the need to carry...
I used up! A 60D..all done, wore that poor thing out...
my 5dII? Poor thing just didnt know what hit it..wore that out too.
The bands must be shy..I tell them Pink Floyd and a few other guys..you can see them..on stage....playing! and that its brilliant!
Yup..my band buddys dont believe in stage lighting
I shoot Charity events in venues with low lights and high iso..ugh
Looking at a D850/D5 or 6 to get that high iso clarity
Kit bag has a 1.8/1.4 prime in it, a 70-200 2.8 with a full frame body.
Ready for any dark interiors to a point without having to raise the iso too awfull much.
The 70-200 makes excellent portraiture in not so good light for same reason .
I cut my teeth in low light and enjoy the moody stuff...
You hit it straight on the head.cost v benefit.
At any one time between flashes, and gear, computor and periferals ill have a lot of investment with me.
And put beautifully, someone will see me doing things and know that gear is easily sold off.
I can take most of my stuff into a shower with no...
Thats my no 1.issue..after a point..my wandering eyes begin to compose, looking for compositions,lighting,contrasts,juxtapositions..
Then..there is"THE light"
It may be honey golden, golden with the long shadows, warm golden from summers, cold golden.
Or alpenglow...
But there is one more light...
Within reason
My S23 Ultra does 99%of what i need.
Therein lies the problem.
That last 1%.
I shoot a certain way of certain things and the grainy photos are unacceptable.
Tiny sensors are limited and while the 23 is amazing, it wont match my full frame cameras abilities.
Theres nothing i hate...
Pro mode, under expose a hair or two.tiny sensors dont have dynamic range so shoot raw to get most.thd 200mp do really make a amazing file size from its device
Alas poor hikers
I knew you well...
What rough beasts become weary and point ways home
Gave all their sole and kept blisters away
Mud and shine green and rime
But came their time...
And now they pine for roads unsung
Trails not done...
Why stress on infinite menu's
Not trying to be flippant as photography is near and dear to me and many others.
Most folks will only use an auto mode or a pre set from the top dial. I use apature priority mode or rarely full manual mode
Back button auto focus
Center focus point and shoot away...
Ive still got an old Nikon..relative to me,film camera bought back in the 90s with dismal lenses.
Sadly..ime a visual learner and absolutely needed the visual back of my little canon to FI HI NALLY....begin to understand what was going on inside!!!
Looking to get a Fujifilm medium format camera...
Sadly..My big ugly heavy companion of many adventures..
My camera and 2 lenses...or 3...idk
A wee dram or more of Nicaraguan 25 yr old rum if i could find it over there.
A warm something to cover my legs at nite to stave off apocalyptic leg cramps
Knee wraps/braces/cane or "canadian crutches"👈...
If your shooting in manual, can we assume your already experienced enough to fully utilise what those features offer?
If you are there ime pretty sure any camera with manual mode you pick up will give you the results you desire..up to the cameras era limits.
Budget isnt always a good bargain...
