Many albergues I stayed at on the Norte had a little centrifugio to spin extra water out of your clothes after washing. Worked very well. And I will echo that hand wringing then wrapping up in towel and stepping on it to extract extra water helps.

I used a very light very cheap cotton scarf. Worked as a scarf and towel and privacy screen. Got it at a box store somewhere cause ti was light. Also had a big silk scarf to wrap the plastic pillow in and use for sun shade. Made a reasonable towel for hair and body in a pinch. Very light,!did...
I used the Lush shampoo bar. You have to let it air dry a bit before repacking it, but it was great. I use them at home now and alternate between my 3 favorites. I also now use “ dirty mouth” tooth powder. Thanks CdN!
If you wear open toed sandals like Chacos or Tevas the water runs in then out. Use foot glide and merino toe socks. Wring out the socks whenever you stop. Dry your feet. Re - apply the foot glide. Carry extra socks. Sandals dry fast and so will your feet if they are not in damp shoes.
Well, for me, a woman the lack of useful pockets in women’s clothing is a terrible pain in the butt, so I, being taller than most, end up in those beige, olive, navy and black items because 1.) pockets and 2.) length. That door swings both ways I guess! 😊
