    I was thinking of going two days earlier to spend sometime in Bayonne first rather than rush to SJPDP ...ryanair said just pay the difference..I checked their prices and having first priority boarding for an extra £22 I could take on board a 10kg bag for the overhead bin on top of the £9.99...

    If your going with Ryanair then put it in the hold if you want to take your Osprey..I could not be bothered to change my backpack for Biarritz as it would cost more to buy another backpack and as you say you cannot risk turning up and expecting to take it on board with you

    Lol I have a senior railcard being that I am 62 this year but agree all the add ons is far cheaper then trains in the UK... in total I have paid £62 for the coach ticket to Stansted Airport, my flight , backpack in the hold , seat reservation and breakfast on the 7:00 flight next week to Biarritz..

    I taking my sleeping bag liner as I believe with the current situation thete maybe no blankets at some of the places ..altogether including my poles the weight comes to 7.5kg under the 10% of my body weight of 82kg .
