    Altus Poncho Help

I’m 5’5” and 120. My pack is a Gregory Jade 38. I ordered the medium because a friend told me the extra room and length would be more comfortable. It is definitely bigger than me! But it fits the BP just fine. I’ve hiked with it several times in cold and rain. Then extra length kept my pants...

    Deodorant Preferences

No rubbing alcohol. Need the ethanol that’s in vodka. My husband says it’s a waste of good vodka. But 1/4c lasts a crazy long time. The crystal salts made my pits raw. Almost like a burn. Might not work for everyone. But everyone I’ve shared this with made the switch after one spinning class, or...

    Deodorant Preferences

So I have a lot of skin sensitivity issues especially with deodorant sticks. The beeswax is a huge problem. Disclaimer: this is liquid natural home recipe. Too heavy for some. But 3oz lasts me 2+ months. Theory is to kill the germs that cause the stink. And allow you to sweat. Which is healthy...

Has anyone used the Bose Sleepbuds II for noise canceling?

EVEN more about soap and shampoo!

Sounds like dreadlocks to me. My hair would be if I didn’t make an effort to comb or brush it.

    Best all purpose soap

Good to know. I experimented on my dark UV shirts and bought lighter colors for the Camino. Now?? I look terrible in yellow. 😳

    Best earplugs

I just ordered a few pair to try! My ears jave been irritated, and one infection trying foam ones. Spent $$ on hard noise canceling that were unusable. Thought I had exhausted all options

EVEN more about soap and shampoo!

Exactly!! I didnt have any clinical research only me as the test subject and I had zero success with the bar options (except laundry). I have not tried the get lathered—but will try anything to lighten my load even more. Thanks for the detailed information and understanding

    Best all purpose soap

I experimented with several of the suggestions. I have super sensitive skin and most all of the multi-use personal hygiene products felt ‘waxy’, sucked the moisture right out of me or left my (long) hair difficult to comb & feeling greasy. I ended up settling on small amts of extremely...

    Women's tall/petite/extended sizing clothes find

I really appreciate the lightweight women’s clothing discussions. Even though I’m more the “refugee slight build”, Columbia etc tend to be cut for 20 year olds and pretty much won’t stay put on my minuscule hips! I’m going to check out these brands! Thanks

Walking in a "skort" (skirt/shorts hybrid)

If you haven’t tried the Prada skorts—I love them! Here in St Augustine I wear them all year. Although I recently got an Eddie Bauer skort (and their capris) Awesome. Mine are size 2 and fit perfect. But the size 4 works and leaves room for more wine and tarte de Santiago!

Suggestions for Lightening my Backpack for a 6-day Camino Walk

My first Camino will begin this May. I’m not very beefy for a woman and I need a knee replacement. My “all in-pack like a tourist” weight was also 17#. If I want to walk far I better pack less. After dozens of evaluating, weighing each item, even my toothpicks, (in grams) I was able to get my...
