I bought some Forclaz MT900 de cana trekking poles in San Sebastian when I did the Camino del Norte. The were "pacer pole like" - had a very similar hand grip. They were a good substitute. I didn't want to risk checking my pacer poles @ airport.
Pacer poles are the are the best.

It traveled well, honestly never had an issue w/ it. When I...

Two thumbs up for Hoka One One shoes (and Tevas). I used both on my CF and never had blisters, zero feet issues. Happy feet the whole way! Hoka soles hold up great also. Excellent arch support too. Mary
Take a peek at Tevas (terra fi) model. Good arch support, good grip, just a great sandel. I used them (along w/ hokas. I had happy feet from SJPdP to SDC ( no blisters). Buen Camino!
Welcome to the forum Jeremy! My vote is for the Hoka's (and Teva's). I used both on Camino Frances /never had a blister. I used Hoka's over Pyrenees and Tevas everywhere else. They were flawless. I walked in Aug/Sept so it was very warm weather. Buen Camino.
Take a look @ Osprey/40L Fairview pack. It meets carryon requirements, and also has a back panel w/ zipper to enclose/hide the backpack straps and waist belt. It has a shoulder strap to use/carry the bag like a briefcase. It is sufficient for the Camino. I loved mine when I did Camino Frances...
