I'm looking to pick up a pair of poles in Madrid - May 17, 18 or 19 if anyone is carrying some around and wants to recycle them. I will be arriving at the airport mid afternoon of the 17th and staying in midtown Madrid for the 18 and 19 and heading to Oviedo on the train on the 20th.
I use this towel, it's a hair drying towel and I like the size and absorbency.

I will be staying in Madrid Center near the Plaza Mayor on May 18 and 19 before heading to Oviedo to start the Primitivo. Is there anyone looking to rehome a set of hiking poles who will be in Madrid (close to the center) and wants to get rid of their poles before they leave? I can pick them up...
Thinking out of the box here too... I am a professional longarm quilter and I have lots of 100% wool batting scraps... hmmm. I will try it out in my shoes too!
I've been blessed to walk and finish two Caminos (Ingles and Portuguese Coastal Litoral), one in the Hoka Speedgoat 5s and the other in a Saucony Peregrine. The Speedgoats were much more comfortable with absolutely no complaints. The Peregrines have a thinner sole overall and I could feel a...
Post on this forum that you are looking for a pair of poles to use with your dates that you will be in Santiago to get them. I did this last year before starting the Ingles, and a lovely couple left me a pair at a hotel in Santiago with my name on them. I picked them up and enjoyed them and...
I love my merino, I bought some undies and a T-shirt from Woolx and am very pleased with the lack of body odor, the ease of washing and quickness of drying. Plus I felt less "swampy" than in my synthetic duds. I do my wash every day on the Camino, it's a meditation and ritual for me. My trick...
That would be lovely, I will be arriving in SdC on Monday around 1-ish. If you do not want to leave your hotel information on this thread, I can be reached on WhatsApp - Karyn Dornemann - or FB Messenger. I would love to give your poles a second life!
I have to use them when walking any distance because I have lymphedema in my arms (after BC surgery) and my hands swell so badly. Using sticks keeps my hands at heart level and my muscles working so no swelling! I use rubber tips. I get into the rhythm of the walk and make up little tunes to...
That's amazing. I am so glad it worked out for you. I have a collapsible pair, perhaps I will see what the Albany NY TSA has to say about them when I board on Sunday.... Buen Camino!
I'd love to know where to score some discarded poles in Santiago. I leave on Sunday for the Ingles, and will be stopping briefly in Santiago on August 22nd (this Monday!!) before catching the bus / train to Ferrol. I need poles and would rather use a discarded pair rather than have to buy and...
Saucony Peregrine 11 (last year's model) comes in a wide, I took a 9.5 wide in that shoe and have never been happier. What a great shoe, breathes well and has a rock plate in the sole to protect the balls of your feet. You might be able to find them on sale too!
I also like compression. How did you find getting into stockings every day? Were they like panty hose, or individual thigh high? How did they do with washing? Did you carry more than one pair? Can you share what brand you used? Thank you!
I bought a synthetic 55 degree Puffle Adventure Quilt that converts to a sleeping bag and has drawstrings at top and bottom. https://sierramadreresearch.com/products/puffle-55-adventure-blanket So far, at home, I love the Puffle. I chose the synthetic over down due to cost. I am doing the...
