96 L Remember you are encompassing the entire bag waist belt etc so it will need to be bigger than your pack size. I think the 75 liter would have worked too. Again you can order both sizes try then send back the one you do not need. And btw: I’m the president of the overthinker club. Seriously...- m2m4christ

We just threw ours in a 19.99 dollar folding duffle from Amazon and checked it. Everything arrived through three legs just fine. CLT to JFK to BCN to PNA. Defiantly protected the straps and loops.- m2m4christ

Hands down go with the 44L with a few thoughts. We’ve never regretted having more space just have the discipline not to throw in stuff beyond your original packing list. .
