    Lol!

My rucksack weighs 1.5KG. That's no good!!!

I agree with you! My daughter and I each have a 40 (+15) liter, and we love it! It fits comfortably, feels good and is large enough for for when we go backcountry backpacking and camping and need to bring more gear. We'll obviously pack it lighter for our Camino, but can't justify purchasing a...

Where can I buy permethrin spray in Holland?

Thank you so much! I'm not one to burry my head in the sand and think if I ignore problems they'll go away. I prefer to meet issues head on and will definitely pretreat everything :-)

Where can I buy permethrin spray in Holland?

My daughter and I are traveling from the states and will be spraying all of our gear with this spray befor we leave, as well as bringing a pretreated sleep sack. Do you recommend we bring a small bottle of it with us as well? If so, will we be able to purchase it near the beginning of the walk...

    Soap/Shampoo/Conditioner/Clothes

Yes, so I've heard from another member on here. The instructions do say to take the leaves out with dry hands as well, but I may just leave them at home for backpacking trips and use my body wash for days I don't have access to washing machines and laundry soap. Thanks so much!

    Soap/Shampoo/Conditioner/Clothes

I was just at REI and picked up the sea to summit green tea body wash (Citonella gives me headaches). It came in a 3 ounce super concentrate, so should last me the whole Camino. I also picked up a pack of 50 laundry leafs (also Sea to Summit), but none of the staff had used them so give me a...

Is a cotton/silk liner enough for sleeping?

My thoughts on this. 1) if I didn't NEED it I wouldn't be bringing it. 2) I have a very limited BUDGET fro doing this Camino and have worked VERY hard and saved for a VERY long time to be able to do it. 3) it's not only about losing the material thing that you may NEED, but equally as...

Is a cotton/silk liner enough for sleeping?

I did see that Sea to Summit makes a bag liner pretreated with an insect shield. I think I'll order us two of those!

Is a cotton/silk liner enough for sleeping?

My daughter and I are also starting in the beginning of May. We camp quite a bit, so we have summer and winter bags. Our summer bags keep us warm to about 40• F, and since they weigh a bit less, we were considering bringing those WITH a silk liner. We figured we could just use the liner when it...

    Best jacket

My daughter and I both have REI brand Rhyolite rain jacket. It's not lined but we've backpacked in Canada in October with it in snow with a sweater underneath and in warmer weather with notrhing but a t-shirt. We love it. Kept us dry in downpours, warm in cold and windy weather and cool enough...
