    I put my bar of dr Bronners in a mesh bag ( the type garlic comes in ) and used it for hair, showering and laundry. Scrubs nicely and doesn't slip. Put in in a zip lock bag to pack.

    Pole: About caring poles

    They were hardly ever in my pack. In the last week or so I began to have some pain in my wrist so took a day or so break from the poles and really missed them. So maybe there is something to be said for those poles with shock absorbers in the handles. Don't know how they work.

    My pack weighed 12 lbs, the heaviest items being my rain gear, which was worth carrying for the two days I used it in the fall.

    What shampoo/soap to bring

    I took a bar of Dr Bronners Castile soap and used it for everything: showering, shampoo and laundry. I put it in one of those mesh bags garlic comes in. Keeps it from slipping out of your hands. You can hang it to dry overnight and put it in a ziplock in the morning. It lasted 35 days.

    Yes, don't forget the a ibuprofen, but buy it in Spain. It comes in 600mg there. Buy it before you need it, and you will! It got me from Leon to Santiago!

    Everything in a plastic zip lock bag, gallon size, and the pack itself lined with a large plastic garbage bag. Nothing got wet. I carried another large plastic garbage bag to put over my pack in the rain. Related items were consolidated in their zip lock bags so packing and unpacking was...
