Equipment for Chubby Girls (perhaps an ongoing guide)

Great post.... I was pretty sure i wasn’t the only short , chubby walker out there! I have the boobs to match the Ruebenesque figure which with my pack straps creates a nasty looking mono boob silhouette. I’m hoping the fashion police don’t make an appearance!

    Women's Underwear

I walked locally with " normal" underwear. It was hot...HOT after 20 km the tag had made a small hole in my back and the seam were the gusset is sown had rubbed raw. I can't stress the importance of trying out all of your clothing in all kids of weather if at all possible before you go. I...

    Women's Underwear

I bought exofficio underwear. Seamless tagless, quick drying, antimicrobial and worth every penny!!! They dry out in 15 minutes. Great for breaks in walking. I found them to be completely worth the price. Ice breaker undies are great too. I just found that they didn't last a long time. Also...

Stuff I was wrong about - And Trail Runners

Merino wool has kind of barbs at the end of the strands of fibres. lower cost merino uses shorter ( and less expensive fibres). Top quality merino uses the longest fibres and has less - if any of those barbs that make some merino itchy. I bought a cheap one at Costco and can't stand it after...

Number of shoes to take (and underwear and other stuff...)

Three is usually the number ( some only two) so you can wear one and wash one. Im taking two bras because when I get out of the shower after walking I don't want to put on a sweaty bra! Also you will have one on while the other is drying. Shoes..... hum. Ive been toying with that idea myself...

Bras for " curvy " girls

I know that with a giant pack on my back, exhausted ,sweaty, Meseta wind swept hair that quite frankly isn't as 'luxurious' as it once was....never mind practical footwear and a giant plastic poncho, old lady walking sticks ( boy have I changed my mind on those) that having one great big giant...

Bras for " curvy " girls

I would argue that for some the Camino is an athletic event....maybe the biggest one they have ever participated in! But not the topic.... I do not usually wear a quick dry bra- just a normal underwire with good support. I have been on a trying on binge at outdoor stores and the quick dry/...

Bras for " curvy " girls

Lots of talk about ice breaker, exofficio. All great but appear to be for those ladies for whom a good bra is not a requirement like oxygen. Any D / DD ladies with good quick drying supportive bra options?

Poncho vs "rain suit" in May/June?

The Ponchos with the hump on the back for your pack can be bought on Amazon and at most outdoor gear stores. A great alternative to the rain suit/poncho debate is poncho ( with the hump) that snaps up or zips up like a jacket. It is longer so your legs are covered and doesn't flap around in...

    Sleeping Bags

Me too! I realize that it is a personal choice based on how warm you like to sleep but those ultralight sleeping bags are pretty pricey!
