I go with "body glide." I'll assume that this product goes by many names depending on where you are from. But it is applied to areas that often chafe and it comes in a container much like an underarm deodorant. It works very well.
Wrightsocks are always my go to for my caminos - they are double layered and I never had a blister wearing them. I just bought another three pair for my April journey. They run about $22-$25 USD each on their website
I'm a big fan of Wrightsocks. I use them always when hiking or any physical activity. They are double layered - essentially a liner sewn within the outer sock. Very comfortable and I never ever had a blister.
I loved my Hoka One One! Trained about 100 miles on them prior to the Camino Frances and they lasted the entire 500 miles there. The heal was worn down by the end so I gave them the proper burial. I hike with replacement Hokas now - they have been great to me.
Perigrinoteca is a great store - they have everything and they employ the best folks - always so nice and accommodating. Right at the base of the staircase.
I've had money belts in the past however, I now prefer a wallet with a chain attached. The chain is then looped around your belt and secured with an eye hook type of device
Another vote NOT to use Goretex shoes.
At the end of a wet day, stuff your (non-Goretex) shoes with newspaper 3 times; 1st time for 30 minutes, next time for a couple of hours and last time when you fall asleep. Its amazingly effective.
The g4-20 has a sit pad that acts much like a support. It can be taken out but I never have done so. The sit pad prevents sweating regardless of the fact that it is frameless. Highly recommended. One of my sons through-hiked the AT and took a look at my G4-20 - he loved it.
I'm a fan of the G4-20. The additional 12L is handy. The 30L should do you fine for the required kit. I start my Camino end of March and that is what I will be bringing along!
