Now that I've finished the book, I have a couple of comments:
1) How could one man consume so much beer?
2) How could he remember the names of everyone he met?
This is the funniest book I've read about the Camino and I've read quite a few. I've even written one! I have to admit, though, that I'm one of those people with a book in me that should probably have stayed there (loosely quoting from Graeme Cook). I was intending to keep this e-book on my...

An interesting scholarly article on published works about the Camino. More about it on my blog.
This is what I wrote in 2013:
Camino bibliography
As an ex-librarian, I must offer you a reading list! The first title is the must-have guide to carry with you. The others are for research before you set off. Of course there are hundreds of blogs out there as well…

What to do during lockdown? Or in my case, during lock-in, since our West Australian borders have been closed for two years. The answer is to reminisce about your travels - or even to write a book about them. This is exactly what I did! My e-book is now available on Amazon.

Funding cuts to public libraries here in Australia (and in the UK I believe) mean that its harder for them to stretch their budgets to fairly marginal requests. I am an ex-librarian. Also, I'd like Rebekah to sell as many books as possible to boost her income - she deserves it! So, buy the book...
What a beautiful Christmas present to myself! And I've been to Moratinos - but felt it would have been presumptuous to knock on their door without warning. I was silly, wasn't I?
I have read many accounts by pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. This has to be the best! The writing is evocative and inspiring, and the translation masterful. How could this man have so many adventures? How could he remember so many details of fellow travellers and their conversations...
Thanks, I've now received the free Kindle sample. It is an extraordinary generous, lengthy sample, with lots in it to think about: wonderful, wonderful writing (and not a bad translation either by our own Rebekah!)
There are two books with the same title and different authors! I'm just reading the one by Serge De Nardo: quite entertaining, but he is another person who walks too far each day and suffers for it!
Why can't we get a free sample of this book from Amazon? This is the first time such an offer isn't available, as far as I can remember. I always like to try a few pages before I actually buy a book.
I'm sorry, but I must disagree with the last two posts. I really enjoy reading accounts of other people's Caminos. They take me back to my days on The Way, as I compare my experiences with theirs. The only thing I hate is prolonged discussions about religious enlightenment - but that's because...
