Dutch I wish you well on whatever route you choose. When do you leave in Sept? I start mine on the 29th on the Portuguese way. Never know might see you in Santiago. Buen camino.
Hi Dutch. There was some road walk but you expect there has to be. Most were quiet roads only a few were busy but I never felt unsafe. Be aware though there is beach walking as well. The hardest part of all for me was the mud. Esp in the first week going up and down. Mud is hard going when it...
Hi Dutch. I didn't feel that there was a lot of road walking when I did it in 2011. There was however a lot of beautiful scenery of the Ocean and the valleys etc. It was diverse and very picturesque. The people are really beautiful people. So will to help you along the way whether you need help...
Great news! My foot is getting better I'm so happy. :). Done all the things that needed doing but have to say I think what was my magic was my ball. Thanks indyinmaine. That suggestion was fantastic. I walked 10 km's on Wednesday then did it again on Thursday and my foot is feeling good...
Great advice. My concern has been long term as I do hike a lot and also have the Via Francegena in my next year. It's my passion and don't want to compromise my feet in anyway. I have done the dr physio etc and still am. I guess I will have to judge it as it comes.
Oh I do hope it heals for you. I hate that feeling of not sure if able to do it. I have done the Del Norte and there are a lot of ups and downs and yes some distances to travel. The first week is (to me) the hardest as the hill are vicious and if there has been rain then the mud makes it harder...
One thing I did forget to add. I was also told and now doing was to take magnesium at night to help with muscle relaxation and fish oil as it is an anti inflammatory.
Omg. I feel like I just wrote this. I too have been suffering from this since May and I'm am so worried and frustrated as I too am off to do my Camino In Sept. It happened after I bought a pair of sneakers that I didn't get fitter for my feet (I should know better) and now I'm paying for it. I...
I don't carry my phone when I travel at all. What I do do though is laminate a small card and attach it to my back pack in a visible spot that has all contacts and my blood type and medication I'm on and my allergies. That way in case of an emergency it's there for them. Also when I'm in remote...
We all have our different ways of dealing with blisters this would have to be the most out of the box way I have ever heard. I am going to keep this one in mind to try.
