Although they have received some negative comments on Gronze https://www.gronze.com/galicia/lugo/san-roman-da-retorta/albergue-candido, I was happy to stay there. It was a bit tiring day with lots of asphalt and with some rain when I arrived so I was extremely happy I could get a bed. (I know...
Hola Anamya, I walked there 5 weeks ago but I don't remember anything else except for 2 albergues in San Roman da Retorta. I stayed at Albergue O Cándido.
This section is always muddy. I've been there a few years earlyer, as well - and always had the same experience - in good weather and in bad weather. They could have filled up the path with stones like in many other parts of other Caminos.
This photo was taken between La Espina and Tineo.

They serve excellent breakfast for 4 Euros in their little bar and the best cofe con leche I have ever drunk on the Camino. :D

As I usually walk alone and I am also a bit afraid of any cattle, but I don't think that I have ever seen many bulls. You can see mostly cows (which also might make you feel uneasy). There are lots of them on the San Salvador and Norte. We should not forget that this is THEIR land and we are...
