Hi Zanndat!
In June the weather is supposed to be warm but not hot. Anyway, on the northern caminos ... always expect some rain, be prepared for wet weather (I would say that you have like 50% probability of having a couple of rainy days).
In that season the Hospitales route will be open ...
IMHO Domingo is a great hospitalero! He has his own rules ... which I think it would be wise to keep, not only in this albergue, but throughout the entire Camino.
Rules are quire basic: if you soil something ... you clean it, the backpacks can never be on top of the bedbunks, you keep the time...
I am sure that at the tourist office (and in most bookstores) in Oviedo they will be able to give you something. Anyhow, you can always use gronze (www.gronze.com). I know it is in Spanish, but you will be able to understand most of it (towns, albergues, prices, routes, etc... and you can always...
As long as you are in Asturias (until Fonsagrada), communication with Oviedo is quite good. From Fonsagrada and forward you will find good communication only from Lugo and from Santiago (which means that first you have to go to Lugo or Santiago and take a bus from there to Oviedo)
Try to stop in Bodenaya and to say hello to David, the hospitalero!! :)
You will love that Camino!!
By the way, after Borres take the route "Hospitales" !! If you decide there to take Pola de Allande route instead of Hospitales, stop for lunch in the restaurant "La Nueva Allandesa"!!
Buen...
Hi!
I assume someone did that! but don´t worry ... you will find a lot of people there that speak English and Spanish ... you won´t have any problem!!
Just don´t forget the most important word: Muchas Gracias!!! -> Thank you very much. Don´t worry about how to pronuce, they will understand...
Going to Berducedo is not so easy!
Probably the best would be to go Santiago - Lugo (by bus), Lugo - Fonsagrada (same, by bus) and to take a taxi in Fonsagrada.
Hi Marina!!
First: Don't be terrified!! :):):) Be sure that there is no reason for that!!
Max. elevation I think it is around 1.200 m (I am not fully sure ... but for sure it is not too high).
The most difficult stage is Borres - Berducedo, mostly if you take the way through Pola de Allande...
The albergue in Borres is clean, but it REALLY needs a refurbishment!! If you don't want to stay in Borres, you can always stay in Campiello.
Anyhow, and now on the good side, the diner at the bar next to the albergue was great and Borres is the closest albergue to the start of Hospitales...
Hi Elizabeth,
At that time the weather is supposed to be quite nice. The temperature is probably between 17/18C min to 26/28C max. You may find some rain.
The net of albergues is quite good. Initially you won't need to take any public albergue (even if I would take some of them - as an example...
I don't think that you will have any problem in those dates.
For me, what is better about Borres is that is the closest albergue to the start of Hospitales. Being a difficult journey ... the shortest the best!! ;)
I walked the full camino past August and I didn't have any problem with the Albergues. After Melide I went to private albergues. Fromn Oviedo to Melide, mostly to public ones.
Buen Camino & Ultreia!!
Once you reach Borres, between Borres and Berducedo, the way splits in 2. The first one goes from Borres to Pola de Allande and from Pola to Berducedo. The second one "Hospitales", goes directly from Borres to Berducedo.
This second way, Hospitales, go by the top of the mountains, it is a...
The albergues depend a lot in how many km/day you can walk. Also is important if you plan to take hospitales or to go to Pola de Allande.
Assuming Hospitales, I would recommend for the sector Oviedo - Berducedo: 1.- San Juan de Villapanada, 2.- Bodeyana, 3.- Borres (the albergue is not so good...
I wouldn´t book any night. You won´t have any problem.
For the first albergues I would take Oviedo, San Juan de Villapañada, Bodenaya, Borres & Berducedo. If the weather is ok (most probably it will be ... but a percentage of probabilities of being snow) I would take from Borres the detour of...
Yeah, that about going to Palas de Rey looks like the only alternative I can think about :-(
Can´t your family joint you in Lugo? It is the same 100 km to Santiago.
Also you can take the railway from Lugo to Sarria. It takes like 30 min and you have around 6 or 7 services per day.
I only have the info in Spanish, but I think that you probably can understand most (km, profile, albergues,...)
For El Salvador:
https://www.gronze.com/camino-salvador
You can obtain the credential for this camino in the albergue "Las Carbajalas" in Leon and the certificate for the camino, "La...
