Camino Primitivo Hospitales or Pola route
Yes, I went the Hospitales direction on a fine day, & was so glad . The climb up wasnt severe in my opinion, because it is a gradual incline. A long day, but I'd say well worth trying. Take enough water, none up there.- Mr Magoo

Boots or shoes on the primitivo
I did the Primitivo in September a couple of years ago. I wore light mid high boots (Keen), which were comfortable. However hiking shoes, preferably NOT waterproof/breathable lined would have been more comfortable on the hot days, and I noticed most people had these, or running shoes. You can...- Mr Magoo

Camino Primitivo in Sept 2019!
I did the Primitivo in '17, starting on September 3rd. It was 26°Celsius in Oviedo. However I took three times longer than you plan, because I'm ancient, wanted to see places (& I'm self employed.) Older People on the Primitivo
Last year, aged only 67, but cautious, I did almost exactly the same stages as "ritaj"(but did 21!). I found the Primitivo very do-able.
