    Primitivo Albergue Closing Dates

I did the Primitivo late Sept into October this year and had no difficulty with albergues and accommodation - did some hotels as well.

New albergue in the concello (NOT the town) of Castroverde

I stopped by there on Sunday the day after it opened on Saturday, it's really lovely in a quaint old courtyard - there were tables outside and coffee on the go very kind hospitaliero had loads of food laid out - a stop here is highly recommended :)

    Tineo-Melide on 23rd September

Thank you very much for your reply, it has been dry everywhere even here in the UK! I start walking on the 23rd and will take what comes and enjoy it anyway!

    Tineo-Melide on 23rd September

I'm starting to walk from Tineo to Melide in just over a week, firstly is the Primitivo well waymarked, I can't find any information about this? Also I wonder what the ground is like at the moment - has there been any rain, is it muddy or is it still dry after the summer? What is the prospect...

    Reflections on a higgledy-piggledy Camino

Sorry to hear you had the stomach bug - it floored me too. I must have been just a day or two behind you and was struck down in Campiello - I was lucky that my partner wasn't walking and had the car - he took me to Tineo to the Medical Centre there where I got treatment and medication, they...

    On the Primitivo

Hi - I had to abandon my camino on the Primitivo because of the tummy bug ... are you sure it was a virus you had? I definitely had the virus (hospital in Tineo confirmed this and gave me very very good treatment) and about 10 other pilgrims I know had it too, we think we picked it up around...

Crazy? No sleeping bag for late Sept/early Oct?

Hi - I'm going to be walking at the same time as you and yes I will just take a silk liner - hopefully sometimes I will get a blanket, some albergues have them - if not then my clothes will do the job! Where are you starting - I am starting in Villaviciosa then towards Oviedo. Maybe see you on...

Camino Primitivo - Worst Experience OF MY LIFE!! Do Not Go There!! EVER!!!

Hi Mark - loved reading your account, and I quite agree about keeping it to yourself too, unfortunately it's now 'out there' ...! I'm walking the Primitivo in September/October this year, at present trying to build up some fitness though not doing very well at the moment, just hoping that...

    Walking Primitivo in May 2016

Does anyone know what the weather is likely to be like in May (thinking about my packing already!) - is the route high enough to encounter snow? Is there any climbing? And is it way-marked, I have heard that it's not good in places.
