    Netherlands - Santiago

Decided on the Morvan. There are a couple of small épiceries, and I made a detour trough Anthien (on the Lemovicensis/Vezelay route) and through Lormes where there is a big supermarket. Talked to some locals, it will probably be fine, just got a scare out of the tourist prices in Vezelay.

Made it to Vezelay! Second part of the journey (from Nijmegen to here) was much harder. I lost my bank card... and am living on a very tiny budget until I can fetch my new one. Lots of sleeping in the tent... had some run-ins with deer, badgers, but also tracks of "sanglier" and... other furry...

    Netherlands - Santiago

Thanks! Also: he llegado a Maastricht! Am I supposed to make a "live from the camino" post now? ;) Anyway, I'm staying in a smelly Stay-Okay. It reeks. Socks and car exhaust and damp walls and... yeah I figured I'd update. Tomorrow I'm planning on walking towards the border. In Belgium I...

Yeah, I´m sticking to my original plan. So starting in Nijmegen :-)

    Netherlands - Santiago

My departure date is sneaking up on me like a tiger in the wild O_o Scary. But also good. I´ve mostly packed everything now. As to the route in France, I´m still not exactly sure which one from Vezelay. I don´t think I will be doing the Cluny-Le Puy route, but I might either: A. Take...

    Netherlands - Santiago

Hmmm... maybe the new owners will continue the practice? Probably not soon, though. Jammer :)

    Netherlands - Santiago

Maybe I can carry the tent to Jean Pied de Port, and then have it forwarded to Santiago, so I don´t have to carry it around there. I prefer to take it with me in Belgium and France: campings tend to be much cheaper, I also like having some back-up (in case I can´t find anything with affordable...

    Netherlands - Santiago

@pelerine great! I will take a look in resources. I am not a big fan of asphalt, so alternatives are more than welcome... I checked out the Dutch Association´s website and it seems to be they have coffee next week in Oosterbeek, so I willl go there. Should be interesting! :D @Luka I read a...

    Netherlands - Santiago

@MinaKamina yeah that sounds like a good way not to walk 😆 @Kathar1na makes sense. I think my mind has become too Dutch, in the sense that I think "mountains", then "snow" haha... I was wondering how to prepare for that, given that it´s best to bring a lightweight pack. The Pyrenees might...

    Netherlands - Santiago

Thanks @MinaKamina ! I had found the santiagoforum.nl, unfortunately most threads there kind of desolate. Not a lot of active members. I found one blog by a girl who walked from NL, her site is called"whenawayfarer". Other blogs tend to only describe the Camino in Spain... I´m fluent in...

    Netherlands - Santiago

Hi Pelgrims, I´m planning to walk from either Nijmegen (Gelderland) or Maastricht (Limburg) to Santiago. I have a ton of questions! First of all, I´d like to get in touch with Dutch Pelgrims who have already walked this route, and who are willing to talk with me a bit about the experience...
