Sorry but I’ve done something stupid there with my posting (pushing the wrong buttons!). I will try and complete what I’ve started.
Day2 continues
Out of Buñol was difficult because of the awkwardness of its streets and road levels in the valley but also due to the steep climb out. It’s was...
Day
Day 2. Chiva to Siete Aquas (28km)
The first section of this stage to Buñol was pleasant, mainly through olive groves. They were preparing for the tomato fiesta! I new the profile for the second section was tough and the 600m climb out difficult both due to the awkwardness of Buñol
I have started my 2019 Camino, leaving Valencia on Thursday 22nd August, and have now reached Cuenca today. I find it difficult to give daily updates, like many of you do, and of which I have found really informative and much appreciated. Some of you have already provided excellent accounts of...
Hi Magwood,
These are two great documents that will be really useful when I am on the Lana from Valencia in three weeks time. I will be following the Requena to MoS and then up to Burgos. I leave Valencia on the 22nd August and hope to reach Santiago around the 4th October!
Many thanks.
Thanks once again BP for your excellent accounts of your experiences along the Lana. It makes the waiting before I start it even longer. With 38 days until I fly out to Valencia I think it's time to begin the count down!
Take great care of yourself out there
Joe
Hi BP,
thanks for the tip of where the bar is if I reach Monteagudo! I always really enjoy my first beer when I reach my stop for the day! It is something that keeps me going if the road is tough.
Take care and all the very best.
Joe
Hi BP,
I been following your posts with interest, especially since you have arrived at Monteagudo de Salinas. Appreciate all the information you are providing.
I fly out to Valencia on the 20th August and intended to start walking on the 22nd along the Requena to MdS and join the Lana there...
Hi Undermanager.
I want to thank you for both the time and effort you put into providing such detailed accounts of your experiences along the Lana. As I posted earlier in your threads that I will be following the Lana late this August when I connect to it at MoD at the end of the Requena from...
Hi Undermanager,
have been following your posts, especially from Monteagudo de las Salinas and finding them so informative and entertaining. I am leaving Valencia on the 22nd August and following the Requena to join the Lana at MoS. I then hope to head up to Burgos, along the FC to Leon and...
Hi LTfit,
firstly sorry for the typo error with your name in my earlier post.
Secondly I am well used to the hot conditions. On the 23rd August last year I left Alicante and walked the Sureste, joined the FC and then the Invierno to Santiago. On the 23rd August 2017 I left Seville and walked...
Hi Lift,
Thanks so much for your updates and experiences. I am a fair weather walker and plan doing the Lana in late August this year. Starting from Valencia and following the Requena to join the Lana at Monteagudo de las Salinas before heading up to Burgos, along the FC to Leon, along the El...
Hi Hubs,
All the very best with your camino. I'm walking from Valencia on the Requena and joining the Lana up to Burgos. I hope to continue along the FC to Leon and the up to Oviedo to then follow the Primitivo to Santiago. I will be looking with great interest on your experiences. Buen camino
Per2000, I did the Sureste from Alicante last August and just love the hot weather walking. You just need to be sensible and have good water management. Good luck LTfit. You will make it alright! Enjoy
Really appreciate your accounts. They will be very useful for me when I start from Valencia in late August. Always good when the weather is on your side.
Hi Kevin.
Following the Levante out of Valencia as far as Alpera is certainly an option for me but I get the sense from reading about those first few stages that they are not particularly nice, with a lot of road/commercial sections, when there is a more direct W/NW camino route. It seems more...
Hi BP
Thanks for the links. Have already looked at the guide by the Asociacion but it doesn't give much on the Camino de Requena. My main problem is getting information about accommodation in some of the end stages suggested.
Having done the Sureste this year from Alicante I am seriously looking at the Lana but starting in Valencia. The first three or so days of the Sureste are the same roughly so I wanted something different. I loved my experience on the Sureste and the Lana is ticking many boxes again for me. My...
