What about some happy days on the galician beach? I‘d recommend you Carnota. It has wide and clean beach, about 8 km long and 100 to 200 m deep (depending on tide). And outside of the spanish summer holidays and may be a sunny weekend you virtually have it on your own. Take the bus to Finisterre...

I think, the mentioned south tower is the tower towards the Praza das Praterias. And Lorenzo talked about the staircase from the crypta to this tower. If he was talking about the crypta with the tomb of Santiago then this can only mean the little stairs up to the the main floor of cathedral...
