I understand your apprehension. My sister feels the same way. I just need to escape Victoria for a while and plan to have some time for quiet contemplation. I don't think it should be compared to the Camino.
I do sometimes walk around the house with my backpack. Also in and out of lockdown in NE Victoria. But at least there are some great walks close by.
Do you honestly think we will be able to leave Australia ( or easily return) by next year? I hope so but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Are you a local? I live in the area and there are a few walking groups, lots of walkers and a many pilgrims who live in the surrounding area. I'm sure if we had known about you journey you would have had many fellow walkers. I often walk Whorouly to Taylor's gap and yes bitumen is hard on the feet.
