10 Days to do Santander to Santiago de Compostela?

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino del Norte 2013
A hastlily booked camino trek has my pilgrim partner and I landing in Santander on July 4th and flying out of Santiago on the 14th. Initially we had earmarked 2 weeks in September but circumstances have changed and between syncing our work holidays and available flights from Dublin we have ten days.

While we are both in our early 30s and fit obviously it's impossible to walk 474km in this time, unless you are Tom Crean, so I would appreciate any information I could get on where en route bikes can be hired and returned further on the trail??? Or indeed if this is possible at all?

While I have a copy of El Camino Santiago del Norte handbook ordered I would like any info previous pilgrims have gained as to the various albergues located on the camino norte so as I can plan where we stay on our journey rather then wing it.

Please be forthcoming with even the most trivial of info as it will all probably help us.

Regards,

Liam H.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Had you thought about a change of Camino. Get the ALSA from Santander to Lugo and walk the Primitivo from there, making sure to get a sello in Lugo itself. Then walk the 101kms into Santiago, it just qualifies for the Compostela. That would give you a little time in Santiago itself before your flight home.
Just a thought .
Buen Camino

Thank you Tia,

Will look into that. It might be the only feasible way we have of reaching Santiago.

Much obliged.

Liam.

You're welcome

Please let me know how it goes as I have 15 days from santander to santiago and would like to know the best way to complete it, bikes for a few days and walking the rest would be wonderful, but I'm also not opposed to skipping sections and coming back later. Any advice after you are done would be great. Thanks, lucinda
