Thanks very much for this info, @Donna Sch. I wish I had known a bit about lengthening the life of my iPhone battery when I left my little adapter in the recessed electrical outlet in my SJPP hotel (I did get it back months later, but that's another story) and had to nurse my iPhone all the way to Pamplona before I was able to get a replacement adapter. At the time I was very new to the iPhone and I over compensated in my battery saving efforts; consequently I have very few pics of that section of my Camino and none of the blinding blizzard and mounds of snow just before and after Roncesvalles.

As to much of the rest of the article, I think it is too much information for a non-techie like me to absorb in one reading, maybe even not in multiple readings. A confirmed techie, on the other hand, would lap all this up, if he didn't already know it. Actually, come to think about it, I don't know if I would want to spend a great deal of time getting it all down pat, as that may get me just too close to obsessive compulsive, and I run in the opposite direction from that!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that this has been brought to my attention, and I know you are not forcing this info on anyone, but there's just too much other stuff I want to do than overly concern myself with the latest technology.

I think if the situation ever got to the point when only my mobile phone could save my life (and, hopefully, there would not be other lives involved) I would just lay down and accept my fate, thank God for my many blessings, be grateful for the life I have lived and for whatever good I was able to do, and for having had the opportunity to walk the Camino at least once.

Just my musings this morning.

Has anyone tried the medical-ID with iOS 8.3? I just can't find it on my phone

Look for a new app that will be automatically downloaded on to your iPhone which is a white rectangle with a red heart inside. This is the new Health app by Apple.
Click on it and along the bottom will be 4 possible uses: Dashboard; Health Data; Sources; and Medical ID - the latter being the one that you want!!
