A bit of fun comparing Pilgrim gender over time

Based on the Santiago Pilgrim Office statistics back in the dark ages (early 2000's) when they first started recording data electronically there were more male than female Pilgrims. This has slowly changed over time and the mix is now reasonably even although there tend to be more males during Winter.

During September 2016, for the first time, more females than males were recorded as receiving their Compostela and recently there have been multiple months with more females than males. See animated GIF below.
