a stick!

Is it easy to find a stick when leaving from Seville? I rather get the impression there is not much woodland. I don't want poles, just something to help me up and down hills and to deter any unfriendly dogs. Will I be better off trying to buy something in Seville?
Thanks
Sue

Thanks John,
What a brilliant idea, I hadn't thought of something so simple. I'm only walking to Cacares this time, but I won't mind ditching a brush pole.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

So true. I still have an ash pole that I acquired in England in 1979. I walked with it regularly until 2002, when I bought my first technical pole. It has served may other purposes - chook herding, snake catching and recovery of valuable objects from behind the furniture ... .

My now adult children have never really known life without that stick being around the house as a reminder that being outdoors is much more fun on a fine day than being inside.

Hola - yes not much woodland until you are out a bit. Buy a brush pole for 2 or 3€ - you might still have it when you get here!
How true, but not only: you might get fond of it and take it home!

This was the most excellent advice Johnnie. I went to a Chinese shop and bought; a brush handle, a mug, a bottle opener/penknife and an excercise book for €3.60! I'm obviously the last of the big spenders The handle has been incredibly useful, mostly for trying to cross streams, I had no idea there would be so many and it hasn't rained for ages. God help anyone who walks after it has rained
