Accommodation prices

Dear all,

I'm walking the Camino frances in July. I live in Pamplona and as part of my preparation I went to visit the main municipal albergue to enquire about prices. Although it's 7 Euros, there is an obligatory 3 Euro charge for a bed sheet, totalling 10 Euros. They also informed me that all hostels would be 10 Euros, and the private ones would be more, up to 15 Euros. In all my previous (and-up-to-the-minute) research I'd understood that hostels were 5-10 Euros, with some simply asking for donations.

It's not that I have any problem with paying these prices but I do want to know what prices to expect to pay before setting off.

Does anyone have info on this? Should I therefore be budgeting 10-15 / day on accommodation rather than 5-10? Has anyone recently done the Camino frances and can advise? Or has anyone got more info? Would it be possible to take your own bedsheet and therefore not pay this obligatory charge?

Greatly appreciated!!
Seb

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you, this is fantastic and well appreciated. I received a message from another user who also said 5-10 would be a realistic estimate.

Just lastly then for peace of mind, does anyone know if prices are raised in the summer (July/August)?

Thanks!!
Seb
