  Rome2Rio is good for getting ideas, but its data is almost always wrong on prices, times, etc. The ideas need to be confirmed by better sources. Consider it a search engine rather than a source in itself.

  Family crests on houses is common throughout the region. I visited twenty villages within twelve kilometers of Luquin. I consider all of them "cute" but most have little history to speak of. Just "home" to the people that live there...

  Agreed—unless it can be unlocked from the inside, as I suspect most are. Two of ours had just a simple sliding bolt, but one required pulling a knob out while turning. Instructions were posted next to it It was still awkward, but the back door...
