advice on booking accomodation/sleeping bags

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

booking accomodation

You can't book accomodation in the albergues. It's whoever arrives first gets a bed - not necessarily blankets, so yes, you need a sleeping bag - the next lot who arrive get a mattress on the floor - somewhere in the building - the last lot may get the floor, so you're best to bring a Thermarest mattress with you. Not all albergues are as bad as this but you need to be prepared for what it MAY be like.
Sorry if this is depressing news. Sadly, pilgrims are leaving earlier and earlier in the morning in order to get a bed for the night.
Of course, there are hotels........

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
