I can get you some up to date pics if you want - I live only a couple of miles away.
Kinky, you absolutely have to go back. Based on your endomondo track, you missed the beautiful green field-green tunnel stretch after Piñeiro. That was where I almost fell backwards into a sea of mud. Had I fallen, like a turtle, I would have been unable to get myself up again. But it is beautiful, and now the route from Piñeiro to Camiño Grande is much improved.I'm not really sure but I think your pic no.4 is from further up on the LU-P-4112. Is it the turn off into Pineiro with its praised fountain???
(Can see it here just before KM 2: https://www.endomondo.com/users/16690154/workouts/379652533)
Yes, I missed that part. I thought to myself if the route down at Reguengo is flooded and overgrown it would be even worse after Piñeiro (warning in the guide) so I stayed on the road all the way to Camiño Grande. Not unusual for me to invent new parts of CaminosKinky, you absolutely have to go back. Based on your endomondo track, you missed the beautiful green field-green tunnel stretch after Piñeiro. You, Charrito, and I will make a dynamic trio on the Invierno.
Hi, Pablo,
Wow, that would be great. I would also appreciate any updates if you feel like walking that stretch! Buen camino, Laurie
You can't really miss Penelope's houses from San Lourenzo because it's almost all the way straight and most of the time you see Pazo de Reguengo down to the left. Thanks a million for that. Now that the mojón has been moved, I'll bet this path will become impassable. I was told that going through San Lourenzo, you will also get very close to Penelope's -- would you know how to describe that for the guide?
Haha, of course it's acceptable. Just remember how many times on different Caminos you asked yourself why this by-pass and that detour where there is clearly more straight optionKinky, thanks for all of that. I will work on incorporating something specific about getting to Penelope's house. But I don't want to put in too many options. Do you think that the San Lourenzo way is acceptable, even though it is longer than the road route you describe?
Thanks, chinasky, looks like you found the way through Sao Lourenzo without difficulty. I'm kind of surprised you didn't see Penelope's house. I remember there was a shell tile prominently pasted into the side of the house, but beyond that my memory is a little fuzzy. Here's her website. http://www.galiciaholidayrentals.com/
But it doesn't really matter -- the key thing is that you didn't go through the impassably brambly muddy turnoff from Pazo de Reguengo and also found your way to Piñeiro, Camiño Grande, and beyond!
