I have not yet done this camino but google Rome 2 Rio for details.
you can take the train to St Etienne and then bus to Le Puy,there are also direct trains. Check out the website.
Maybe next September for me if I can find someone to start with. Good luck.

Hi @Aishlyn

From Lyon airport you catch the 'tram' (more like a metro) to Lyon Part Dieu station, which is in the centre of Lyon. https://www.lyonaeroports.com/en/access-transports/tram From Lyon Part-Dieu you can take a train to Le Puy-en-Velay.

The train from Lyon to Le Puy will either be a direct one or will have a transfer at St-Étienne Châteaucreux. The journey times seem to be fairly similar whether direct or with a change - around 2 hours 20 mins. I'm going next month and due to timings, I'm staying a night in Lyon and getting the train to Le Puy the next day. You can see the train times from Lyon Part-Dieu to Le Puy on https://www.rome2rio.com as @camino07 has suggested, or at a site such as https://www.trainline.eu/

You can buy your tickets for both parts of the transfer in advance:
https://www.rhonexpress.fr/en for the tram to/from the airport
https://www.trainline.eu for Lyon to Le Puy-en-Velay

Edited to add: If you have further questions, you will possibly get a better response if you post them in the Le Puy section

Good luck!

Ellie

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I’m yet to do my trip too but from what people on here say, the nerves disappear once you start walking. I’ve found lots of good info about the route in the Le Puy section; some of the helpful folk there who spring to mind include @Camino Chris @Kitsambler @Glenshiro and @OzAnnie

Onwards!

Thanks again. I went to the Le Puy forum and got a bit lost but will try again . I am hopeful,I will settle in once I meet up,with my friend Carol with whom I walked the camino frances. I am mot a tough Pilgrim I must confess . I did the frances with Spanish steps which pampers one quite well although I did walk every inch . This time I am using the Aussie company Raw travel which is less glamorous and has no guide but booked accommodation and luggage transferred. My husband my rock of 62 years died in February and I always said I would walk another camino if I lost him so,that is what this is all about
