1) In Sao Joao we stayed in Casa de Misericordia, it's not much, just a mattress on the floor in a big room, showers on the same floor, ok for 1 night, donativo. Ask about a curfew as we didn't and had to climb over the window to get back
Am sure there was smn in the building to open up for us but we didn't want to wait, ran the bell once, was around 10.30pm. Adress: Rua Manuel Luis Leite Junior 777, in the centre.
2) Agueda is really nice, enjoued walking around there in the evening, one of my fav towns on the way. We stayed in Albergue St Antonio, it's partly a pension, partly an albergue, a very friendly, clean and peaceful place. I'd say my favourite albergue between Santarem and Porto for me. You can oder food to be delivered there from the local cafe, big portions, budget, enjoyed the meal in the albergue on the terrace, although there is a very good kitchen there to cook if you want. It's slightly out of town, but not that far and going downhill to town, and there is also Liddl next to it! With everything you possibly want and with Pastel de Nata for only 45c a piece
The albergue is on the way for the next morning to start. Ah, ad they also have small rooms for 2 people (bubk bed) in the albergue section as well - a treasure for those who are tired from snoring!
Enjoy the umbrellas and street art there! Bom Camino!
