2024 VdlP/Sanabres from Salamanca to SdC
There are free concerts of Clasical Spanish Guitar that are happening this week. You will see the venue as you come into the town. It's an old church with a huge mural facing you. These concerts are for pilgrims and are truly wonderful. Start at 6.30 and last maybe 1/2 hour. What a treat, I really enjoyed it.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

On my last Camino Frances in 2016 I had the huge delight of hearing the guitarist James Kline playing there. Using a beautiful unique instrument that was a combination of guitar and harp. Then an unexpected surprise when I met James again the following night for another special performance in Moratinos. Serendipity

I recall attending a wonderful performance there featuring classical guitar with vocal accompaniment. A dynamic show given by a father and his son. Making it even more memorable, this event took place on my birthday. It was one of these special unplanned happenings that one experiences while walking the Camino.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I'm afflicted with a mild case of Iglesiaphobia but when I passed the church and heard the lilting strains of a guitar wafting on the air through the open door I had to go inside. It was a beautiful experience. Later I learned there is a classical guitar school in Carrión de los Condes and the church invites the guitarists to perform. The Camino provides . . .

LOL! I'm the same way about Gaelic music wafting out of pubs or bars, no matter the country or the time of day. :>) The bar on the upper terrace behind the Cathedral in Santiago had a family band playing Galician music until 1:00am on my last visit to Santiago. Even though everyone had tired feet, there was a lot of dancing on the "dance floor" that was the size of three small tables pushed aside... another great memory.

Interesting, Rex. I live in Anacortes, but graduated from Edmonds High School. Small world, it is.

Nice. We moved here about three years ago, from Magnolia Bluff in Seattle. We retired to a little house right behind the old Edmonds/Woodway HS, down on 236th PL SW. Such a charming quiet little town.

We moved north from Clyde Hill in west Bellevue in 2009. We are both fortunate to live in the Pacific Northwest.
