Time of past OR future Camino
May 2013
Hi I am Linda from South Africa and will land in Barcelona on 1 May 2013 to start my Camino. Never gave a thought to the public holiday and am wondering if I will have problems with train from airport to city and buying airtime and drawing cash. If all shops will be closed I need to spend extra day in the city and must make reservations accordingly.

Hi Linda

I've been in Barcelona on this holiday and although big places were closed the bars, restaurants etc were all open. I suspect that public transport will be on a "Sunday service" but will still be operating.
