Burgos To Leon 2018 - Footwear

The footwear conundrum, what else do us Caminoans talk about.

Have a pair of Scarpa Peak GTX boots, which I wore last year but suffered heal blisters pretty badly but I did only have them for a few months prior to heading out.

So was considering for the first time ever switching to hiking shoes for what is said to be a pretty flat stretch of the Camino i.e. Salomon X Ultra 3 Low GTX. Any suggestions welcome as to should I bother make the switch or not?

Unless you're going in winter shoes are your best option. That stretch has good paths and is pretty easy walking.

Hi, Hugh. Trail runners, dump the boots.

Also, there are at least three other new threads today on shoes and footwear inquiries. Maybe those will provide some additional information for you, too.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I loved my Salomon boots. The amount of weight in your pack also has a bearing on the foot wear you should use. Comfort support and keeping your feet dry are all very important.

Just bought x ultra as well to replace CrossFit 4 as they wore off too fast
