Bus from Santiago to Sarria

To walk part of the primitivo in june 2016
Hey guys. I am starting my walk in St.Jean le Pied port this Friday the 18th. I have to be in Sarria by the 5th of September as my mother is flying in to do the last 100k with me. I plan on cycling the Messeta and maybe a bit more so that I can get to Sarria by the 5th.

Anyway, my question is..... Do you know if my mother can get from Santiago to Sarria on the 5th by bus? I am sure she can and normally I would just arrive in ST and go to the bus terminal. My mother likes to be a bit more organised so here I am asking the question. I have looked online and I have gone to the volunteers office in Dublin but I still don't have a clear answer. I am hoping that you fine pilgrims can help me.

Much appreciated,
Andrea and Lucy

Hi Andrea and Lucy,

There's a bus running from Santiago bus station departing at 3.00 in the afternoon of Sept 5th arriving in Sarria bus station at 5.50, cost €12.50. You can only buy tickets at the station or on board. It's run by Monbus, their website is www.monbus.es for more information.

There are also trains from Santiago to Sarria. The train station in Santiago is located more centrally than the bus station however, no direct train and a change is required. There's one departing at 5.00 in the evening, change at Ourense and gets into Sarria at 7.00. Online fare €19.90. Details on www.renfe.es

Regards,

Gerard. (Kerry for the All-Ireland)

Ah Gerard,

You're a star.
Thank you so much. You have made my life so much easier.
My mother would have been in a total panic.

I am a Dub but not a follower over the GAA so I'll put a few positive thoughts to Kerry getting Sam while on the Camino.

Once again, thank you.
