Camino Frances (May/June 2018)
Hello fellow pilgrims!
I walked the Camino Portuguese in May/June 2017 and I need to get back on the path. Life has thrown some tremendous upsets, and I didn't think I'd be walking this one _alone_ again, but I'm ready...come May. I can't walk more than 16 days. Anyone have a section they particularly recommend? I have no attachment to getting to Santiago. (Certainly interested in Finisterre, in the future, not necessarily this trip.)
This will be my first time on Frances. Do my fellow pilgrims passionately recommend starting in SJPP?
Thank you (heartily) in advance.
New Yorker, seeking beauty and no-think

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Yes SJPdP to burgos I would choos as well. There is a good variety of landscape. And what's more it leaves you with a perfect excuse to return!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I’m going to be different because we all different and it’s all good. My favourite section is Leon to Santiago. You still get one big mountain pass with spectacular views. You will finish in Santiago. Plus you may even have enough time to walk to Finisterre.

I love all the suggestions as each section has its own beauty! No one section would ever be a "wrong" choice. Sorry I am no help at all, but couldn't resist chiming in.

I loved the energy around starting in SJPdP .... that first two weeks of the walk into Burgos was particularly special. The friendships that I forged at the beginning lasted right through to the end of my journey in Santiago. Also loved the city of Burgos and would love to spend more time there......another camino at another time.

Leon to Santiago.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I did the CF in juxtaposed stages over 3 years. I loved it all but if I could do it again I would start at the beginning. If you get but halfway after 16 days its siren call will have you return to finish it next year.

Dear New Yorker,

You can always skip (take the bus) through the Meseta and enjoy everything before and after it.
(The Meseta, IMO, can be tedious).

Just my thoughts..............
