In 2014 I walked the Frances. In O'cebreiro I met a German peregrina sitting alone in a restaurant. The next day we walked together and never split up since than. At that time(age 51) I lived alone for two years and wasn't looking desperately for a new relationship.
The woman I met at that time, was seeking for answers how to go on with her life after stepping out of a relationship. Fot the two of us it was clear that the camino brought us together. Are there more pilgrims who found the love of their life?

A few years ago on the Frances I met a peregrina from Hungary who told me quite a few of her friends have walked, or are interested in walking the Camino in hopes of finding a nice peregrino for a boyfriend or husband. She said it was not the sole reason for their walking, but was one of the reasons. I thought that was interesting, and interesting how fate and timing play such a role in life. An day or even an hour difference here or there, and the right person for you may or may not cross paths with you, yet be on the Camino at the same time.

In 2014, I walked with German girl who met an American man, they’ve been married three years now.

On each camino, I met quite a few folks who met and married a fellow pilgrim.

I, so far, met any number of Catholic priests. Sort of a reverse Sound of Music theme.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I met a hospitalero in Foncebadon who came to meet me several times along the Camino. When I finished I went back to see him rather than carry on to Finisterre. I then came back again to see him a few weeks after my trip. We sat together in the square in SdC and made wishes for changes in our lives.

He moved to London where we both now live, along with our twin baby boys - Dexter Santiago and Dylan Leon - Camino babies! We are now back in Spain again, this time in our campervan with the babies, and we finished our Camino finally visiting Finisterre. We also sat in the square in SdC once again to give thanks for our prayers being answered.

That’s so lovely! Are you both from the U.K.?

I walked in 2017 and I guess I was kinda looking for love amongst other things, I didn’t really find it except maybe a little more love of myself!

Actually the first couple of weeks I was a bit distracted with messaging a guy I’d dated a bit before going on the camino, we were falling out on and off and it was detrimental to me (I felt I was supposed to be doing the camino yet I wasn’t really fully on the camino due to the messaging) and made me a bit unhappy but once we cut contact I felt low for a bit but then perked up for the majority of the camino thankfully!

Truth is, I don’t think I’m fully happy with myself at the moment and that’s what I’m working on. Hopefully when I’m happy with me and not looking for a relationship it will happen then, perhaps on my next camino, perhaps not
