We are flying from Santiago to Madrid tomorrow evening, spending the night at a hotel, and then flying to Chicago the next day. This is all on one ticket. Do we pick up our checked luggage at baggage claim in Madrid and then recheck it the next morning?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

As Molly said; you’ll probably have the choice. What’s printed on your baggage tag by the agent (and on the little sticker which they’ll probably affix to your passport or boarding card) is definitive. Madrid is MAD O’Hare is ORD, I think.

Our packs were checked through to O'Hare and arrived safely. Our plane was struck by lightning on the way to Chicago, which apparently isn't a big deal, but was a bit alarming!
