Compression socks to buy?? Help needed for calf vein pain

vee

New Member
Hi, am walking from May 11 from sjpdp, have been training with long walks and have really painful varicose vein pain in my calves when I walk over an hour. I bought some 2xu compression socks to try but they didn't help much, today I walked 3 1/2 hours and was in agony and was wearing the compressions socks. Is there another compression sock that someone has used that they would recommend ? Any advise would be so appreciated as it seems hard to find advise for this issue! Thanks

Prescription compression hose are better than over the counter for someone with more severe varicose vein symptoms. You should discuss this with your doctor. They are sold at medical supply stores and are fitted to your calf size and lower leg length. Expensive but well worth it.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
As you mention its agony, you had better see your doctor re removing the source of your trouble. It may well be a case of delaying your departure and getting a permanent solution! Good luck either way!
