i was wondering if there were any sites on routes other than the Frances akin to the Cruz de Ferro, where pilgrims place their burdens, spiritually-speaking. Anybody know?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
people leave mementos all over the place; they carefully place their worn-out boots at the foot of old stone crosses; they tuck prayer requests into the rocks at holy springs, they leave autographed scallop shells in the rafters of a bar atop a mountain on the Sanabres... I think only the Cruz de Ferro holds claims to "laying down burdens." ( The people who do the annual cleanup usually call them "litter.")

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I meant more like a generally recognized place for that sort of thing, like the stones piled at the Cruz de Ferro.
