Hi friends!
Is there a way for two people to start together at SJPP but then separate and one of us “hops on to” the Del Norte route? Is there a “fork in the road” or detour that connects the two routes near’ish the start? We would then reconnect again in Santiago. Thanks everyone, Buen Camino!

Multiple choices e.g Pamplona back to Bayonne. Or you can split later say at Burgos. Map shows choices

At Logrono there is a bus to Bilbao

Ah, thank you so much! I looked through some maps and didn’t see this one! Huge help, thank you!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hi, I've just finished the Norte, & I ran into a bloke who did the San Salvador, which i believe, hoes north from Burgos.

Buen camino

As my fellow countrymen would say when asked for directions "If you are going there, I wouldn't start from here"

Have you both thought about starting at Bayonne (Airport/Rail Station) with one doing the Norte and the other the Voie de la Nive / Frances? @wisepilgrim has some apps for you to follow.

Actually, it goes north from León to Oviedo. In 2019 I walked from SJPDP on the Frances then took the Salvador to Oviedo, then connected to the Norte, but it sounds like perhaps @Brmickelsen id looking for more time on the Norte than that.

I would choose the Baztan from Pamplona walking in reverse to Bayonne. If you want to walk the Norte than you should get as much time as possible along the magnificent coast. It is absolutely breathtaking to say the least. I would also check out the forum on the Norte and read about the many variants that will keep you on the coast more often and avoid some of the road walking. I started from Irun and I later I had wished I had started in Bayonne. Gronze.com will help you alot for distances and places to stay from Pamplona. The route will also get you in shape for the ups and downs of the Norte.
