Easter on the Camino

Time of past OR future Camino
Yes
We will be on the Camino on Easter this year. I estimate that we will be somewhere between Molinaseca and O'Cebreiro on April 12. We are starting in Pamplona about 12 March. It will depend on how fast we walk and how many side trips we decide to take. We are going to Silos from Burgos for a couple of nights.
What has been other peoples experience of celebrating Easter on the Camino? We have been in Europe several Easters in the past and have always found it a great experience...especially with the special Easter dinners offered in Italy, etc.
If we had our choice, we would be in a hotel for a couple of nights instead of a Albergue.

Hello and a Buen Camino to you!

I started my Camino in SJPP on march17, 08, wich ment I entered Spain in the Holy Week, Semana Santa. That's a time when many spanish people walk the Camino, a tradition. The auberges were mostly almost full. After that holidaytime had passed there were usually only a few of us peregrinos sharing our meals and dormitories.
About the spiritual issues concerning Easter I cannot say very much.
You say you plan to be close to O'cebreiro april 12, just checked my Credencial, I was there that day 08!
Rain and sleetstorm, no magnificent view of Galicia, cold and wet, but still great!

I'd rather be walking

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
